Meeting in real life
Meeting new people can be rewarding. It also asks for care. Matriarchies may help women find one another; it does not supervise meetups or guarantee anyone's conduct.
Before you meet
- Prefer public or otherwise appropriate places, especially the first times
- Tell someone you trust where you're going and when you expect to be back
- Arrange your own way there and back so you can leave when you want
- You can decline an invitation or change your mind at any time
What you share
Be thoughtful about personal details such as home address, routines, money, and exact location until trust is earned. You don't owe anyone your full story to belong in a circle.
Your judgement
Use your own sense of whom you meet and what feels right. Being part of a circle never obliges you to do anything that doesn't. If something feels off, leave.
How we relate
Matriarchies is not a dating service. We expect goodwill, curiosity and respect, not harassment, manipulation, exploitation or unwanted advances.
If something goes wrong
If you are in danger, contact local emergency services first. You can also write hello@matriarchies.com about conduct that concerns you; we may remove waitlist access or limit use of the site when we need to protect others. We can't police every offline interaction.
What we don’t do
We currently don't background-check people on the waitlist, don't verify identity beyond what the product actually does (a magic link shows you can open that inbox), and don't promise that everyone you meet will behave well. Your judgement still matters.
